A JOURNEY TO SOMETHING BETTER TURNING WORDS INTO ACTIONS POWER TO THE PEOPLE OUR SUSTAINABILITY PHILOSOP Bit by bit - generation by generation A piece of furniture can be crafted in one place using components from different places. By 2026, we aim to have transparency down to every component used in our designs – and we have already reached this goal for many, like the beautiful Swing dining chair, where we know that every component is produced in Italy. The Swing dining chair is shown here without upholstery fabrics. Quality and longevity The Swing dining chair has been tested according to EN 16139 for strength and durability, ensuring exceptional quality and long-lasting functionality This rigorous testing guarantees that the chair meets stringent standards for strength and durability, providing both reliability and comfort over time. Responsible forestry The Swing dining chair is FSC™-certified, highlighting the importance of responsible sourcing and ensuring that the wood used in its construction comes from legal forestry, where ecosystems are protected, and biodiversity is preserved. The certification guarantees sustainable harvesting practices that consider environmental, social, and economic factors, supporting both forest health and local communities. A transparent footprint We are happy to transparently communicate the specific climate footprint and the full lifecycle of our most popular designs. The footprint includes everything from raw materials, to production, packaging and shipping, the product lifetime and eventual disposal after many years of use. In collaboration with MÅLBAR, we have calculated the estimated climate emissions of the Swing dining chair to 39 kg CO2eq. Creative customisation Most of our furniture is made to order, allowing for customisation while minimising waste. As something very special, the Swing dining chair with oak veneer seat is EU Ecolabel certified. This ensures efficient use of materials and reduces consumption during the full lifetime of the chair. Designed for disassembly With an emphasis on circularity, the Swing dining chair is designed for easy disassembly, enabling the recycling or repurposing of its components. The concept of “design for disassembly” refers to creating products in such a way that their components can be easily separated when they are no longer in use. This approach facilitates easier recycling, repair, and material reuse, reducing waste and supporting a circular economy, where materials are reintegrated into the production cycle instead of being discarded. Timeless design Our Swing dining chair exemplifies and reflects our 6 design principles to its core - through thoughtful material choices, the design process in itself, and the product’s end of life. The Swing dining chair focuses on Reduce material and energy usage in production, Refuses fleeting trends in favor of a timeless design that remains relevant over time, and makes it easy to Recycle and Reuse components. Through its component design, we constantly Rethink how to innovate and keep resources in use longer. 24 Solid oak rear leg Solid oak front rail Solid oak front leg
